Step 2: Pano/Ceph Digital X-rays, Digital Scan & Assessment

When indicated, we’ll evaluate the problem using digital imaging and identify the fastest, safest fix.

Step 3: Treatment

We’ll repair or replace broken appliances, relieve pain, and coordinate any urgent dental procedures (like chipped or knocked-out teeth) with your general dentist.

Step 4: Aftercare & Monitoring

We’ll give you care instructions and schedule a follow-up to ensure everything’s back on track.

Orthodontic Emergencies Related to Appliances

Braces or appliances can sometimes become loose, bent, or broken. If you notice a loose bracket, poking wire, or discomfort, call our office during patient hours to schedule a repair. We cannot accept walk-ins, but we’ll do our best to see you quickly.

At-home tips:

• Poking wire/tie: Cover with wax or tuck it in.

• Loose bracket/band: Leave in place and call us for an appointment.

• Broken or sharp wire: Bend it gently or trim carefully, then contact us.

Direct Injuries to the Mouth and Teeth

For any direct injury to the mouth or teeth:

• Apply ice to reduce swelling.

• Contact your dentist right away for X-rays and evaluation.

• If braces shift or break during the injury, call us after your dentist visit so Dr. Babaeian can assess and repair your appliances.

Tip: Dental injuries are best treated by your general dentist first, as they have the necessary tools and materials.
